Isabella socks
When knitting socks, it’s easy to accumulate many good sock yarn leftovers, and whether you’re knitting with
commercial sock yarn or the slightly more expensive hand-dyed sock yarn, it’s always great to use up those leftovers.
Isabella socks are a suggestion for a pair of socks that can be made from the leftovers of two 100g skeins of sock yarn
in two different colors. And it doesn’t hurt that leftover socks can be both pretty and well-fitting :-)

Isabella features a 1x1 rib, a sweet little lace pattern, striped stockinette stitch for the leg and foot, and a shadow wrap
heel. We have knit the sock in our soft and durable Önling No 18, which is made from 75% non-superwash wool and
25% recycled PET (plastic) bottles.

Sizes

Medium (size 38-39/US7-8.5),

knit according to the stitch count for size small if you
have narrow feet and knit them to the desired length.
Conversely, you can knit according to the stitch count for
size L if you have wide feet

Materials
50(75)75 g Önling No 18, 420 m pr 100 g, 4 ply sock wool
- non superwash with recycled bottles
2.5mm circular needle with a 60cm length or 2.5mm
double-pointed needles (DPNs)
2 stitch markers

Yarn alternativ
AKW - A Knitters World Alpakka Sock, 400 m pr 100g,
60% superwash merino, 20% superfine alpakka, 20%
nylon.

The socks can be knit using various sock yarns with an
approximate yardage of 400 meters per 100 grams.

Gauge
32 stitches x 47 rows per 10 cm on a 2.5mm circular
needle

Procedure
Isabella is knit from the cuff, down over the heel, across
the foot, and finishes with a rounded toe. The sock
is knitted on a circular needle using the magic loop
method, but can, of course, be knit on double-pointed
needles if you prefer.

A sock with a shadow wrap heel consists of: ribbing, leg,
first and second halves of the heel, which are knit using
twin and triplet stitches, foot, and toe.
