This pattern has a pretty lacy effect. It is not a difficult stitch pattern and would suit a beginner knitter as there is no shaping.
I have designed the 16” chest with a stocking stitch back and sleeves so it is not too lacy for a baby.
The requirements are
4 buttons ~ 15mm
16” ~ 70g DK
18”/20” ~ 100g DK
24”/26” ~ 140g DK
