This cosy cardigan is a real treat! Rita Taylor designed this in Blacker Swan for children, but we loved it so much that we have graded it up for adults as well! The cardigan features a geometric Fair Isle motif with raglan sleeves and a shawl collar.

To Fit Bust:

57 (67, 84, 94, 104) cm / 22.5 (26.5, 33, 37, 41)”

Bust: 63 (75, 92, 103, 115) cm / 25 (30, 36, 40.5, 45)”

Back Length: 41 (48, 58, 61.5, 66.5) cm / 16 (19, 23, 24.25, 26.25)”

Sleeve Length: 25 (33, 43, 44, 45) cm / 10 (13, 17, 17.5, 17.75)”

Yarn:

Blacker Swan (DK; 100% Falkland Islands Merino Wool; 110 m / 119 yds per 50g)
Main Colour: Stone (grey); 5 (6, 10, 11, 13) balls
CC A: Balsam Bog (olive); 1 ball
CC B: Sand (fawn); 1 ball
CC C: Sky-Grey (deep blue); 1 ball
CC D: Mountain Berry (plum); 1 ball
CC E: Dusty Miller (white); 1 ball

Gauge:

21 sts x 28 rows = 10 cm / 4” worked in stocking stitch using larger needles

Always use a needle which results in the correct size after blocking.

Needles:

3.25 mm (US 3) - straight knitting needles
4 mm (US 6) - straight knitting needles

stitch holders, darning needle, 5 (5, 6, 6, 6) buttons

Notes:

This garment is knitted flat and then seamed. The cardigan has raglan sleeves and a shawl collar, with simple rib cuffs.
