I designed and knit this sweater for my personal use, and many knitters have asked for the pattern, so here it is! I love this cozy and light-weight sweater, which can be casual over jeans, or work-appropriate with leggings.

An isosceles triangle has 2 equal sides. The yoke of this sweater is composed of 8 isosceles triangles within larger isosceles triangles, for a dramatic effect directing attention to the face. Gradient yarn is used for the framing triangles, creating a lighter effect on one side of the sweater, and a darker effect on the opposite side. The sweater is shaped identically on both sides, so can be worn with either side to the front or the back.

The tunic features my intarsia in-the-round (ITR) technique, and is knit from the top-down, so you do the fun intarsia first, and then have nice easy knitting for the rest of the sweater. It is a great pattern for a gradient kit! The pattern assumes that the knitter has basic knowledge of ITR. If more instruction is needed, check out “Annetarsia Knits” (my Rav store, Amazon, or order at www.annetarsia.com/Book), or my Craftsy classes, Fun with Custom colorwork : www.craftsy.com/ext/AnneBerk_11099_H, or Next Steps in Intarsia: www.craftsy.com/ext/AnneBerk_3998_H.

Knit with Miss Bab’s Yummy 2-ply Toes, it is lightweight to wear and easy to care for. The intarsia yoke is made in a single size. Sizing is easily customizable in the main color, after completion of the yoke. The tunic and sleeve length are adjusted by knitting more or less rows.
