This pattern is a tribute to one of the most lively, colorful and tasty cities that I know. It is an invitation to get inspired by the city vibes and go wild with the color combinations. I would like to thank Nesrin Takil , whom has tested some of my design for the inspiration she gave me for my color choices. Would you like to guess where Nesrin is from ? ;)

Measurements:
Triangle base (width): 190 cm/ 75’’
Sides: 140 cm/ 55’’
Depth: 95 cm/ 37’’

Yarn: I have chosen to work with cotton yarn, however you can choose other fibers as well. The yarn should be of lace or fingering weight (24 wpi), 470m for 100g.
The Pattern is written for 6 different colors- 3 MC and 3 CC yarns. It is possible to work with 2-8 different colors as long as the CC yarn are contrasting the MC.
I recommend to use light colors for MC yarn, and dark colors for CC yarn.
MC1- shown in pink- 260m/ 284yd
MC2- shown in light green- 174m/190yd
MC3- shown in light blue- 112m/122yd
CC1- shown in dark blue-120m/131yd
CC2- shown in purple- 120m/131yd
CC3- shown in dark green- 170 m/186yd

MC in total: 546m/ 597yd
CC in total: 410m/448yd

Gauge after blocking:
Mosaic- 25 sts and 38 rows= 10x10 cm/4’’x4’’ in swatch pattern attached on p.9.
Stockinette- 24 sts and 20 rows= 10x10 cm/4’’x4’’.

Needles: Due to differences in mosaic gauge the mosaic parts should be worked in larger size needles.
For mosaic parts: 3.25mm/US 3 or any other size to maintain gauge. For the rest 3mm/ US 2.5- or any other size to maintain gauge.

Materials: cable needle, waste yarn for holding stitches, stitch markers, tapestry needle.

Structure: First a diamond shaped fabric is made- starting with a magic ring cast-on (video tutorial is linked in the pattern) and worked in the round. Then short rows are added on each side to form a triangle.
The rest of the shawl is worked on this triangle base that has been formed.

Stitch Patterns:
-Mosaic- worked in two colors, one color is worked at a time. The pattern is created by slipping the stitches of the row below which are in a contrasting color without knitting them. This is a very simple technique, suitable also for beginners.
-Lace- worked in MC in between the Mosaic parts, the lace pattern is an adaptation of a few motifs from the Japanese Stitch Bible/Hitomi Shaida, and includes cable and twisted stitches work. It is best to have some experience with lace knitting before attempting this pattern.
