Its a Gansey! is the third sock in the AM Sock-a-long -- come join us as we knit away Socktober!! These ankle socks work up quickly and are fun to knit!
7½ (8½, 9½)” foot circumference (slightly stretched) x 8½ (9½, 10½)” long. Socks shown measure 8½ x 9½”.
The Plucky Knitter Feet (90% merino, 10% nylon; 425 yds /115 g): Milk Maid 1 skein. Appx 195 (220, 245) yds—exact yardage will vary!
Size 1 (2.25 mm) 32” circular (cir) and Size US 0 (2.0 mm) (or your preferred needles for small circumference knitting.) Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Marker (m); tapestry needle; cable needle (cn).
32 sts and 40 rows = 4” in Stockinette Stitch
To save time and ensure proper fit, please take time to check gauge in each pattern.
These socks are worked top down in the round. The heel flap is worked flat across one needle and is then shaped with short rows. Work continues in the round to shape the gusset. Instructions are written for 2 needles (magic loop) — if dpns are preferred, simply divide stitches onto 4 needles.
