this pattern is not gender specific. the size is for teen to adult. the hat was made on a cindwood 5/8 gauge 48 peg loom ( equivalent to the purple knifty knitter). you could easily do this pattern on smaller sized round looms to create one for a child. i used approximately 1/2 skien of lime green, 1/4 skein of real teal and used some scrap white, light grey and lemon yellow (all red heart) for the embelishments
