Have you always wanted to try some colorwork? But you don’t want to have to carry floats? Or maybe you just love the relaxing and soothing rhythm of slip stitches like I do! Enter It’s a Slippery Slope - your gateway to more color! This is an entirely slip stitch pattern, even though it ends up looking exactly like stranded knitting in the end.

The mitts begin with a rolled edging and a special no-twist join written into the pattern. The sample is worked with 10 contrasting colors along with the master color, but the pattern is written for three colors, so you can choose your own style. Don’t worry - I’ve added all the color info in case you want to have a pair just like mine!

This pattern is part of my Happy Hands & Feet, serialized eBook: one pattern per month, starting November 2023 and ending October 2024.

About my project

Welcome to my oddments project number three! (See the first one here and the second one here.)

I continue to read comments from people overrun with yarn scraps and wanting something to do with them…so I’m going to continue to put these fun little patterns out! This year, I’m focused on wearables for the wrists, hands, ankles, and feet.

They’re different weights and different colors. Some are a full skein. Some are just leftover tidbits, but you can’t throw them away! Definitely not a sweater’s worth of any one color or yarn, let alone a shawl’s worth or even a full pair of socks or mitts. You can’t imagine what to do with them, but you don’t want to part with them. Well then. Ranging from the whimsical to the more traditional, these patterns will be the friends your yarn oddments so desperately need! 12 patterns to breathe life into your scraps and let them be useful once again.

The patterns for this eBook will be delivered to subscribers within a subscription period beginning on 3 November 2023, and ending 31 October 2024, one per month. All patterns will have charts (if needed) and written instructions, and you will be able to make them out of oddments. These are small projects, not big ones: the perfect size for a cozy evening or two of stitching in front of the fire.

I’m so excited for you to join me in this little Oddment-a-Month Club! Happy knitting, my friends.

Note that purchasing the eBook represents a significant discount over purchasing each pattern separately. No refunds can be given for buying the patterns separately and then, at a later date, purchasing the complete eBook. If you have made a single pattern purchase in error and wished to purchase the book instead, please contact me within a week to resolve the issue. Thank you!
