Do you fancy the powerful red “Piment” reminiscent of chilli peppers - an excellent source of energy for grey rainy days? It is a colour of our Merino d’Arles yarn from sheep that live in southern France. Or would you prefer Iuvat designed by Tirill Ilebekk Hansen to shine in your personal favourite colour? Whatever you choose - Iuvat is a sweater to love. It is fun to wear and effortless to knit. The minimalist ribbed design is ideal if you want to try your first raglan sweater or are just looking for a relaxing knitting project. The wide, straight shape and the casual blouson sleeves define its modern look, and the bold choice of colour brings freshness to your wardrobe.

Iuvat is knitted seamlessly from the top down in the round. The neckline starts with a long tail cast-on and is followed by the raglan section, which is created with right- and left-leaning increases. Then the sleeve stitches are placed on hold. First, the body and then the blouson sleeves are simply knitted straight. The hems are double folded. The pattern also describes two more variations for the neckline - a semi-turtle and a classic ribbed neckband. While knitting from top to bottom, body and sleeves can be tried on and adjusted to the desired length.

The pattern is designed with 9 – 29 cm (4.75 – 12 in) positive ease at bust circumference.

The garment in the images is knitted with the colour Piment.

Iuvat is part of our first own collection 2020 with the theme Joy. It was conceived by Rosy and realized with a team around the world in times of a global pandemic. The pattern names are joyful expressions from different languages. They remind us that joy, diversity and solidarity across borders can give us hope and strength. The name Iuvat is Latin and means it delights, it assists.
