This pattern is for the basics to cover a common 2” diameter round tape measure- the one I used was from KnitPicks. You can embellish it later with embroidery or figure out some ears to make it an animal. Or go the lazy way I did and just use some fantastic variegated yarn.

It takes about 5g/9yds of this yarn (Waltz Worsted by Dancing Dog Dyeworks).

I used a Turkish cast on, so needed dpns, and then used Magic Loop for the body of the cover.

I also used a Clover 2.25mm/1” pom pom maker (one of the extra small sizes) for a pom pom pull on one of them. More yarn would be needed for a pom pom.
