The Ivy Belt features a pretty leaf-shaped point, worked using straightforward increase and decrease techniques and a combination of knit and purl stitches to lay flat. The e-book pattern - which also includes instructions for two further belts - describes, with illustrations, how to knit the belt, including how to attach the buckle during the knitting process and how to ‘knit on’ the guide loop.

One belt uses just 50g of yarn and a belt buckle - which you might be able to rescue from a worn-out belt. With 62m of yarn, each belt can be knitted to a maximum size of 105cm (120cm at full stretch).

The Iris, Illya & Ivy Belt pattern is also available as a full knitting kit from the Keep & Share website - www.keepandshare.co.uk - priced at £18 including UK p&p (delivery overseas is £5 per order). The kit includes the pattern, 2 balls of Offcuts Yarn, 2 buckles, and a pair of birch Brittany needles, beautifully packaged in a biodegradable noodle box.
