Izotz is knitted from the top down, seamless in the round. You are going to start in the neckband, then raise the back of the neck with short rows. Next, the winter themed stranded colorwork. It is not easy (the snowflake is a challenge), but is worthy. Then you are going to separate the body and sleeves, and set aside the sleeve stitches for a while. Next step is the body, and you have two options: with or without waist shaping. Sleeve stitches are then picked up and you are going to knit the sleeves down with decreases. Finish your sweater by weave in the loose ends, block to measurements and your sweater is ready!

Izotz’s instructions are clear and easy to follow. Pattern in imperial and metric units. Stranded pattern is charted only.

All measurements listed are from the finished garment. I suggest you choose a size close to your body measurement, with a difference of negative 2” (5 cm) to positive 2” (5 cm). But remember: this is only a suggestion! It’s your sweater, and you can do whatever you want ♡

Izotz is #sizeinclusive, with several size options to fit us all!

Izotz is a Basque name that means “ice” or “frost”. The Basque language, or Euskara, is spoken in Spain and France at the western edge of the Pyrenees and it is considered the oldest living language in Europe. As the only non-Indo-European language of Western Europe, Basque would appear to be the sole survivor of those languages spoken there before the Indo-Europeans arrived.
