The cardigan Malibu is worked as a raglan from the top and can be easily adapted to fit any individual size. The main part is worked in stockinette stitch. The pattern is interrupted by a small lace insert around the hips and wrists and finished by another small lace edging.

To work the lace insert, a crochet bind-off is made and the stitches are picked up again with the knitting needle. To practise this somewhat unusal construction and to determine the best needle and hook size for your project, swatching is recommended.
