Jacky's Birthday Moebius Cowl
Loving Winter ♥ ❄ ☃ ☼
Here in the St Paul/Minneapolis and St. Croix Valley area, February is “exit time” for many people. We’ve had it with the cold and snow, but it’s mostly the cold that drives us to seek out warm, and sometimes exotic locations to enjoy a respite from the blasted arctic chill.
On the other hand, we also revel in the winter with celebrations like the Hot Air Affair in Hudson, WI and The Winter Carnival in St. Paul, MN, to name a couple of the well-attended events. We do make the most out of all of the seasons.
Inspired by warm winter vacations and the reds of Valentine’s Day, I’ve collected several of my knit and crochet patterns to share in my Loving Winter ♥ ❄ ☃ ☼ bundle. They offer you a selection of projects using variety of yarn weights.
These are available for free download through Saturday, February 21st. Have fun with them.
Happy knitting and crocheting!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Happy Winter vacation!
Thank you for all of the pattern support!
I wanted to knit a quick chunky cowl for my dear friend Jacky’s birthday, so I chose one hank of Plymouth Yarn’s, Baby Alpaca Grande Hand Dye, and finished it in an evening.
It’s a luxurious, warm cowl that is 7” wide x 26” in circumference and a very rewarding knit, sure to block the winter chill and keep her snuggly warm.
Any of Plymouth’s Baby Alpaca Chunky, Misti Alpaca Baby Chunky or Cascade Baby Alpaca Chunky solids or hand painted yarns will work beautifully in this pattern.
And you only need ONE hank!
The Moebius has a 180-degree twist, which is created at the special cast on, and join. Rounds of knitting grow from the center of the work to the outsides.
Video tutorial link and written instructions are included in the pattern.
