This shawl was designed for our first grandchild Jacson. When our son and daughter-in-law told us they were pregnant, we were over the moon, as we had waited a long time for a grandchild. The baby was due in January, but I kept telling the bump throughout December if he were to arrive in time Christmas, there would be plenty of presents for him under the tree, (hence the Christmas tree featuring in the shawls design). Jacson did indeed arrive in time for Christmas, so as promised, there were lots of presents for him under the tree.

Jacson’s First Christmas, is an asymmetric triangular shaped shawl. Its knit from tip to edge, with increases on one edge, and decreases on the other. The pattern is worked in garter stitch, with rows of eyelets to break it up, and add interest, it’s then finished off with a lace, and garter stitch edging. This shawl is a simple knit, and works up in the blink of an eye.
