This is a wonderful pattern to highlight any tailspun yarns, though textured yarns would work too!! The locks can be long, or shorter.. it will just vary how the fringe on the boot topper looks, but both work.

You can knit a full leg warmer, or just a boot topper, the fringe will keep it up over the boots!

Any commercial yarn works for the boot topper, or you can use handspun!
