Jedi Socks
My husband, like so many husbands, is a big Star Wars fan. So much so, he has designed his very own Jedi character, with a place and role within the Star Wars universe. His name is Adafr Levan, a Jedi Sentinel trained in lightsaber forms IV and VII. He created a new training academy hidden on Tatooine with his Jedi Consular friend Lonma Hasan (yet another Star Wars husband) where he further mastered his skills with the lightsaber and the force. When he asked me to design him a pair of socks befitting a Jedi, how could I (also a big fan) refuse. These socks are designed simply for ease of construction and wear, but with enough flair to interest even the most stoic of Jedi Consular.
SIZE
S, M, L
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Foot Circumference: 8, 9, 10 inches
Leg/Cuff Length: 5.5-8.5 inches
MATERIALS
350-500 yards Sock/Fingering weight yarn. Can be anything you’d like, so long as you remember it will become a pair of socks. I prefer a 20/80 nylon/wool blend. Feel free to use your favorite sock yarn. If you don’t have one, try Knit Picks Stroll Glimmer. You’ll need at least two balls of this yarn, but the stellina adds some galactic star-shine.
I used US 2 (2.75 mm) needles. Use whatever needles will get you gauge. Also, you can use DPNs, two circulars, or magic loop to work these socks.
Yarn needle, or crochet hook for finishing.
Stitch markers (optional) for dividing repeats, or instep from sole, or marking the beginning of round.
GAUGE
28 sts/36 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch
