This pattern does not include directions on how to make pom poms. There are many videos on youtube giving instructions on how to make them, or you can buy the pom pom makers (my personal fave method) at popular craft stores such as Michaels or Joanns.

Gauge is not too important in this hat, but to make sure this hat will fit, make sure the first row of DC is the width you need the finished hat to be. I have included a size chart with measurements for each size in the pattern.
