any super bulky weight yarn, for your reference I used Madelinetosh A.S.A.P. in Tern (100% superwash merino wool), 90 yds - 82 m and Drops Andes in beige (65% wool, 35% alpaca), 3.5 oz /105 yds, (100g / 96 m), 2 (2) skeins or approx:
153yds / 140m

Needles
size US 11 / 8mm and US 13 / 9mm at least 16”/ 40cm circulars
or longer circulars for magic loop or DPNs, or size to obtain correct gauge

approx 31/2”/ 8.5 cm Pom pom maker (optional)
tapestry needle for weaving

Gauge
10 sts x 16 rows = 4”(10cm) in Cable pattern on US 13 (9mm) needles.
Select a yarn that has a recommended gauge of 27-29 sts / 10 cm and drapes well after blocking.
