Josef’s Beret is a quick knit in worsted weight yarn, and can be felted in your washing machine. This stylish felted Beret may be worn with the top folded to the side, back or front.

Both of the samples here were worked in single twist yarns, which felted up to the right size. I’ve heard from a couple of people that their berets came out too large. If so, felt it again in hot water, and see if you can get it to shrink. When it comes out of the washer, it is bowl-shaped. Flatten it and pull it into a circular pancake, and then shape it on a head, mannequin, or bowl of the right size.
