Loving Winter ♥ ❄ ☃ ☼
Here in the St Paul/Minneapolis and St. Croix Valley area, February is “exit time” for many people. We’ve had it with the cold and snow, but it’s mostly the cold that drives us to seek out warm, and sometimes exotic locations to enjoy a respite from the blasted arctic chill.

On the other hand, we also revel in the winter with celebrations like the Hot Air Affair in Hudson, WI and The Winter Carnival in St. Paul, MN, to name a couple of the well-attended events. We do make the most out of all of the seasons.

Inspired by warm winter vacations and the reds of Valentine’s Day, I’ve collected several of my knit and crochet patterns to share in my Loving Winter ♥ ❄ ☃ ☼ bundle. They offer you a selection of projects using variety of yarn weights.

These are available for free download through Saturday, February 21st. Have fun with them.

Happy knitting and crocheting!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Happy Winter vacation!
Thank you for all of the pattern support!
Take care,
Diane

Knit these sparkly cuffs with matching headband for a touch of warmth, a little fashion and loads fun!
The cuffs are knit in the round from the bottom up with an offset bead pattern. The yarn used in this sample is Silky Wool, which is a smooth strand that hugs the beads; along with Schulana kid seta lace weight mohair, held together throughout.
Approximately 200 size 6/0 TOHO seed beads for EACH (Medium sized) cuff are prestrung before knitting the project. The headband uses 133 beads.
Have fun selecting just the right yarn and bead combinations.
(Substitute any smooth stranded sport weight yarn along with any lace weight mohair.
The cuffs and headband may also be knit with the sport weight yarn alone.)
One hank of Silky wool and one ball of mohair will make 4 cuffs and two headbands.
The link for the Magic Loop method is included in the pattern.
