This afghan pattern calls for three colors: tan (1,655 yd), rust (1,045 yd) and black (960 yd) in worsted weight chenille yarn. The original project was stitched with Lion Brand Chenille Sensations which has since been discontinued, using colors Brick #134, Russet #136, and Black #153.

Lily Chin adapted the knitted mosaic technique for crochet, so each row is crocheted with only one color at a time, but the finished piece looks like intricate colorwork.
