My daughter was born at 29 weeks, nearly 3 months earlier than her due date. After spending 47 days in the NICU with my little girl, I was inspired and designed this hat for her and the other NICU miracle babes we met. The common phrase the nurses used when encouraging tiny babies to be strong was “Just Keep Swimming” from Finding Nemo.
The design features little waves around the edge, and a spiral wave decrease at the crown. I chose two similar colored skeins of graduated hand dyed yarn for this called Tahiti by Schachenmayr (suedsee 07626) which gives this hat a gorgeous tone much like a beach sunset. Available in 3 sizes by measurement, the largest of the three being “newborn” sizing.
