This is ‘A complete outfit just like a real baby’s’ - it consists of a vest, pilch, petticoat, gown, matinee coat and bonnet.
The gown is started at the lower hem of the front. The skirt is made in a lacy pattern, and the yoke in moss stitch. When the back of the yoke has been completed, the stitches are held, and then grafted to the back once that has been knitted, again from the bottom up. The sleeves are set in.
Gown, coat and bonnet are finished with crochet. The gown buttons at the back, with the crochet as buttonholes. Ribbons complete the garments.
The vest and pilch use 2 ply wool, and the remainder of the set uses 3 ply.
