Kaiyo
Kaiyo is a combination cowl and poncho. The final result is a pretty cowl that can be worn up on the neck like a cowl or, as pictured, draped over the shoulders more similar to a poncho.
Kaiyo was designed for the Yarnbox Classic December 2016 pattern.
Materials:
Yarn: 2 skeins of Feederbrook Farms Entropy Milk and Honey (260yds/100g; 67% merino, 16% alpaca, 16% milk) or 520 yds 475.5m of DK weight yarn.
(NOTE: This designer only had 15g of yarn remaining! If your gauge differs dramatically from mine, your yardage may vary.)
Needles: US 5 3.75mm 32” circular needle and US 7 4.5mm} 32” circular needle, or size to obtain gauge.
Notions: Stitch marker, tapestry needle.
Gauge: 20 sts x 32 rows = 4” x 4” 10 cm x 10 cm in seed st on larger needles, blocked.
Final Dimensions: Top circumference 27” 68.5 cm, Bottom circumference 50” 127 cm x Depth 14” 35.5 cm.
Errata: If you received a physical copy with Yarnbox or downloaded a copy from Ravelry before 12/20/2016: Switch to US 7, or larger needle, after you complete the last Row 3 (or once you are done with the twisted ribbing). The rest of Kaiyo will be finished with the US 7, or larger needle.
