Kallen is an Irish name that means “slim”. Kallen has slim little baby cables that run up from the brim of this hat, striking in the Silver Birch colorway from Yarn Vibes, a company that produces 100% Irish wool.

Worked in the round, Kallen contains written directions and charts. This hat pattern is written for one size, that comfortably fits a head that’s 20-22” in circumference.

Kallen is written to be worked on circular needles. When the crown becomes too small to continue, you’ll switch to the magic loop method. However, the pattern notes do contain details should you wish to use double pointed needles instead.

This hat is modeled here by my better half Curt, who has a 22” (56 cm) circumference head.

• US8 (5 mm) 16” (41 cm) circular needle, or size required to obtain gauge

20 Stitches by 22 rows worked in the round in stockinette stitch = 4” (10 cm) on US8 (5 mm) needles, before blocking.
