A soft and lacy light shawl, perfect for any day, inside or outside. This shawl is knit starting at the centre bottom point with increases on the outside edges. The diamonds are an easy to remember pattern, with eyelet spines between them. Each new level of diamonds is spaced a few rows further out than the last one. The centre of the shawl is knit in stockinette stitch, and when the rows start getting really long the center stitches are put on hold. The points are knit separately using short rows. The top edge is nicely finished off with an I-cord edge.

Only the right side rows are charted, as all wrong side rows are done in purls.

Yarn needed: 450-600 meters of any heavy fingering, sport, DK, or worsted weight yarn.
Needles: 100 cm/40in circulars - 5 mm/US 8 or size to get gauge
Also necessary: 3-4 stitch markers and a needle to work the loose ends away with.
Blocked Gauge: Stockinette stitch with 5 mm/US 8 needles: 11 sts and 12 rows is 5x5cm (2 x2 inches)
Blocked Size: 220 cm (86 in) across the top and 67 cm (26 in) deep in the middle

The last four pages of the pattern are the charts for the left edge. The right edge is worked mirrored, so they aren’t on the chart.
