The Karn Scarf is produced with a mock rib pattern that provides both visual interest and creates a dense yet plush and malleable fabric. When looped in the traditional scarf-style (doubled, then wrapped around the neck by pulling the ends of the scarf through the loop at the fold -- as pictured on our model, Curtis), the Karn Scarf is a gentlemanly ascot length, which avoids creating a bulky lump when tucked into a jacket or coat. Named for the distinctive bassist Mick Karn, most famous for his work in the dark, arty band Japan, the Karn Scarf (which was the inaugural design collaboration between designers Shannon Robertson and Michaela Drapes) embodies the essence of the Kindling & Tinder design philosophy -- that handknit items can be both elegant and luxurious.
