The KASCuddle is designed to be an outer garment to be used over whatever clothing the baby might be wearing. The original Cuddle size was for newborns to 4 months. The requests in South Africa now are for 2-6 months sizes.

The current pattern is dated October 2010.

As of March, 2012, the requested size has now changed, but the pattern hasn’t been updated. Please make the body 29-30” long. The total length (including the collar ribbing) should be 34”-35”. The requested width is is now 15” across (flat measure), for a 30” circumference.

Materials:

  • 21 oz worsted weight wool or acrylic-wool blend yarn. Please choose a soft yarn; yarn is held double throughout.
  • US 13 (9cm) circular needle 29 inches (70cm)

There is also a crochet version by Anne Powell; see the Ravelry listing here.

The original, smaller version (25” circumference and length), which required 14 to 16 oz of yarn, can be found here.
