I went to see the second installment of the Hunger Games - Catching Fire - with the intent of keeping a close eye on the knitwear… because I knew it would be awesome! And I was not disappointed. The minute I saw Katniss in this amazing morph between a chunky cowl and a one-arm vest, I was in love! I decided to make my own version of this concept. I made mine a little more fitted to flatter the figure, and I made the cowl a bit smaller and more wearable. What I love about it is that it is meant to look rough and chunky and a little primitive, so you don’t have to have perfect little stitches in order to make it look good. This is a one-size piece that fits a standard Med/Large Women’s size top, or a Large/XLarge Junior’s size top.

This pattern uses circular knitting needles with a 47” cable.
There is a little bit of crochet, but don’t sweat it… if you can knit… the crochet part will be a breeze for you!
