The shawl is worked in one piece starting at the centre back. The tops portion of the shawl is crescent in shape, reulting in a curved upper edge. The lace edging can be worked plain or with optional beads. The size of the shawl can be enlarged by working additional repeats of either portion of the shawl.
This is one of 3 shawls inspired by visits to our cottage on Stoney Lake in the Kawartha region of Ontario.
The wavy lace portion reminds me of mist rising off the lake in early morning.
The smaller shawl was done in 400m/56g of laceweight handspun, with a long colour gradient.
the larger shawl was worked with 2 skeins of cashmere silk laceweight from Sericin Silkworks.
Both were hand dyed by Tabi of Sericin SIlkworks.
