I designed these socks for my father, Keith Slater. He has heart failure and has been in and out of hospital this year, and really appreciates having handknitted socks to keep his feet warm. The pattern is offered for free, but if you have enjoyed knitting it I’d love it if you wanted to make a donation to the British Heart Foundation via https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Keithsocks.

The pattern has two sizes; medium will fit a foot with an 8-9” circumference and large will fit 9-10”. You could adjust the size by adding or subtracting pattern repeats to fit a larger or smaller foot.

You can use any 4-ply yarn (I’d recommend using a wool/nylon mix if you intend to wear the socks in shoes). I used a bit less than 100g for the large size.
