These sweet mittens were originally made for Nicole’s sister, who is a true romantic. Simple Fair Isle stripes hide secret symbols on the palms—the right palm has a key knit into it, while the left palm has a heart—the “key to your heart”! The striping makes for a double-thick, super warm mitten, sure to warm you and yours on the coldest of days; knit yourself a pair, or “gift” these to an extra-special loved one…

These mittens are knit seamlessly, and can use any (4) different 50 grams balls of any Dk weight wool/wool blend. Instructions are given within the pattern for having the palm symbols face you or face away from you, and the pattern also features a description of the striped Kitchener BO.

This pattern will be released in the Winter Issue of Knitcircus Magazine in November 2009. Please check out the Knitcircus website to subscribe or purchase this issue!
