This hat is made in the double knit stitch for extra warmth. It has a double thickness of knitted fabric when finished. It is started by making 2 separate ear flaps and then joining them in a round. Working from the hat brim up to the top in a round. There are no seams to sew up when finished. I-cords are added to the ear flaps as well as a decorative edge in a single crochet stitch around the edge. A pom pom can also be added.
