This project started life as a commission from my cousin who was looking for a child’s scarf that would actually fit his 3yr old. I chose to design it with a large buttonhole (keyhole) to encourage my little friend’s independence as he’d just become a big brother. Now he loves getting himself ready to go outside all on his own.
For those who are a little older, this Mock Cable scarf looks cool and doesn’t keep coming undone!

Note - To eliminate flare at the CO and BO edges, omit the first/last 4 garter stitch rows.
