Formal Kilt Hose to fit your favorite Scot! Whether you’re Scottish by birth or Assimilation, properly fitted hose are a luxury every Braveheart deserves. With a foldover cuff that sports cables, openwork and bobbles, these hose are suitable for fancy dress occasions from weddings and balls to Hogmanay.

The decorative cuffs are worked from the bottom up, then the hose continue from the top, down to the toe.

This pattern is sized to fit an adult male, with instructions for how to measure and fit the legs YOU’RE covering. Once you’ve perfected the fit, you can use this same pattern for simplified casual versions; just substitute a different cuff.

Bonus tips and resources are included for wearers and lovers of kilt hose, whether you’re from Scotland, or just Kilt-y by Association.

This pattern was originally given out at the Kilt by Association class at Sock Summit 2011 by Mary Scott Huff. The pattern includes fitting charts, notes to modify the pattern to fit individuals, and lots of good photos to help knit the hose.
