This pattern is designed for knitters new or almost new to kilt hose. It is suggested that the hose be tried on as they are knit to make sure they fit the intended wearer properly, as each person’s legs are different. Smaller or larger sizes can be knit by subtracting or adding stitches in groups of 8 at a time, to fit into the patterns and shaping. A specific gauge is not given, because ‘worsted weight’ yarns vary quite a bit in density and thus changing yarns will change gauge over this project.
