These kilt socks are very versatile and the pattern could be knitted in any Aran-weight yarn. Why not make a pair in cotton for the summer?

They are knee high, ribbed socks that are bound off with the larger needle.

Skill Level: Intermediate (according to the book)

Needles:
US 8 straight needles
US 8 double pointed needles
US 10.5 straight needles

Extras:
Stitch marker
Darning needle

If you have the UK version of the book with the missing special abbreviations, here are the two that are missing for this pattern:

With front being outside, back being inside.
P2left - purl into back of second stitch, purl into back of first stitch, slip both stitches off needle
P2right - purl into front of 2nd stitch, purl into front of 1st stitch, slip both stitches off the needle

(They create a two stitch twist on the outside of the cuff.)
