This kind of thing looks easy to think up on your own. We’ve tried it many times. But then you get bogged down with pickup ratios, or colour placement, or garment shaping, and then suddenly you have 5 expensive UFO’s (Unfinished Objects) in your closet for years. This pattern is comprehensive, encouraging, wise, and loaded with detail-- and much of it is written strip by strip, so it’s hard to get discouraged or confused. There are lots of diagrams for visual learners. It’s fun to do, and glorious when done-- truly wearable art, all straight lines but fluid because of the lightweight yarn.
