Kinta is a light shawlette, featuring an easy-to-memorize eyelet mesh stitch pattern. Worked from the bottom up, Kinta is V shaped with slightly angled ends.
Kinta looks wonderful knit in a gradient yarn, or choose a solid colour or your favourite hand dyed yarn. Alternately, use a linen, cotton or hemp yarn for the perfect summer version of Kinta.
Knit in fingering weight yarn, Kinta is easily adapted to suit your yarn quantity, with sizes written for one or two skeins.

Small: 25.4cm/10” x 203.2cm/80”

Yarn: 4ply/fingering weight yarn; Small: 402m / 440 yards, Large: 732m / 800 yards

Malabrigo Sock (100% Merino; 402m / 440 yards / 100gms)
1 skein “Ochre” used for small sample.
Gradience Yarns Fingering Weight Silver Sparkle (75% Merino, 20% Nylon, 5% Metallic; 399.6m / 437 yards / 100 grams)
1 Skein “Sweetpea” used for Small sample.
Orange Flower Twist sock (
100% Merino; 366m / 400 yards / 100 grams)
2 skeins “Io” used for Large sample.

Needles: 3.75mm / US 5 80cm / 32”circular needles to hold a large number of stitches.

Notions: 1 Stitch marker
Tapestry needle

20 stitches and 44 rows = 10cm / 4” in blocked mesh stitch pattern.
Gauge is not crucial for this project; however, variations in gauge will affect finished measurements and yardage required.
