Wrap this stunning shawl over your shoulders and feel the simple joy of knowing that you have truly knit something special, something timeless………

Quite simply……a Rhapsody of colour and texture.

Classic garter stitch lets the background colour bring the vibrant contrasting border and the stripes to the forefront to it’s rightful place as the dramatic focal points.

For an unusual finish, add an accent of wrapped discs showcasing the gradation of colours that have been so beautiful in the look of this shawl.

The construction of this shawl is very basic and would not be difficult for beginners who want to try their hand at knitting shawls. Basic garter stitch and simple decreases will have you tapering down to the final point in no time.

One of the perks of carrying the yarns up the side along the inside of border edge is that there are only a few ends of yarn to be worked into the back of the shawl. Bonus!

The pattern explains how to overlap the main colour with the contrast colour at the inside border edge. Easy enough to do and creates a nice crisp transition of colours. The pattern now includes a second PDF to download, it is a one page photo tutorial showing these steps.
