Rib and welt dishcloth pattern is not only a very simple knitting pattern but creates a fabulous finished fabric. If you were to take a peek in my kitchen “towel” drawer you would find at least five rib and welt dishcloths knitted up in all sorts of colors. The dishcloth pattern looks fabulous in any color or color combo; heck, it looks just as fabulous when knitted up using variegated yarn. To tell you the truth, I enjoy all my dishcloth patterns but I tend to find myself grabbing this particular dishcloth because I like the feel of the dishcloth and the fact that it feels solid in my hands (weird I know but that’s the only way I can think to describe it).

A sweet lady wrote to me, “I am an art teacher. I have purchased a lot of your dishcloth patterns but the Rid And Welt dishcloth pattern is my favorite. I love the visual and tactile surface characteristics and appearance of this finished dishcloth the best.” Of course, I thanked her and told her I couldn’t agree more and I thought the texture of the dishcloth pattern adds that little extra punch.

Another fabulous characteristic of this dishcloth pattern is your completed dishcloth will look the same on both sides; who doesn’t love that? I know I do! And once again…I have included the pattern repeat for those wishing to adjust the size of their dishcloth, or design something fabulous with the stitch pattern.

Your completed Rib And Welt dishcloth should measure 8½″ x 8½″.

Enjoy ~
