Knapsack Monsters are happy to gobble up anything and hop on to your back, carrying all you need while out and about.

This pattern is written using US terms and includes a chart for converting into UK terms. Photographs are used throughout to help with instructions. A printer friendly version will also be included.

These backpacks measure approximately
H30 x W22 x D10cm and will carry up to an A4 size book/notepad.
The arm straps are adjustable so the backpack can fit any age.
For this pattern, you will be working with UK Chunky (US Bulky) yarn. You can use 2 strands of DK held together for the same gauge. I have used a 6mm hook.

You will need:
Chunky yarn (or 2 strands of DK) in any colours you choose (approximately 200g of main colour and less than 100g of lip colour)
Black and White yarn for the eyes, plus optional iris colour
2 x 25mm buttons
Fastening options:
2 x 25mm buttons, 2 x1” strips of Velcro, or 14” zip
A yarn needle and scissors.
