This is an easy hat to make for children through adults. It starts out with the ribbing, which is crocheted sideways and then seamed. The body of the hat is then crocheted onto the ribbing and worked up toward the crown. The decreases are done in an unusual manner, but they aren’t difficult at all.

MATERIALS
• worsted weight yarn; small amount of a solid color & approx 200-250 yds multicolor (the sample used KnitPicks Mighty Stitch 80% acrylic/20% superwash wool in Canary for the ribbing & Happy Valley Yarns superwash wool in Blueberries for the body of the hat)
• crochet hooks in size G-7 (4.25mm) & I-9 (5.5mm)
• split stitch marker (or a piece of contrasting yarn)
• yarn needle
