If you know just three stitches--knit, purl, and knit two together--you can make this stylish hat with just a bit of slouch in the fit. Narrow bands of different stitch combinations work well with the varied textures of this hand-tied yarn. I used a cable cast on because I prefer a sturdy edge on hats, but you can use whatever cast on works best for you.

If you want a slouchier fit, just knit more bands of your favorite stitch combinations (or make up your own!) before beginning the decrease rounds. There’s enough yardage in the skein of recommended to do so. You can also increase needle size to get a bigger circumference, or decrease needle size to get a smaller circumference.
