Who doesn’t feel special when wearing a crown?

Whether it’s for a birthday or dress-up, this crown knits up quickly from the bottom up and can be made for newborn through adult large! It’s knit on smaller needles than recommended for a chunky yarn to give it a bit of structure.

Skills used: Knitting in the round, increasing, decreasing, blocking with pins

Sizing:
Small: to fit 13”-16” head (~newborn-6mo) (5-pointed crown)
Medium: to fit 15.5-18.5” head (~3 mo-child) (6-pointed crown)
Large: to fit 19-24” head (~ age 6-adult) (7-pointed crown)

Yarn
Berroco Vintage Chunky (100g). I used 19g, 24g, 36g respectively for sizes S, M, L. It’s a good idea to have extra yardage on hand in case your gauge differs from mine.

Needles: US 8 dpns or circular needle 36” or longer for magic loop

Gauge: 15 sts/4in in main 10-st repeat pattern. Each 10-st repeat: 2-5/8” (6.5cm) after blocking (row gauge is not as important since the height of the crown is not crucial)
