Materials required

Wedding horseshoe -One pair of size 2.25 mm (UK size 13/US size 1) knitting needles for horseshoe and one pair size 2 mm (UK size 14/US size 0) knitting needles for flower and leaves; No 10 or No 12 crochet cotton - 30 metres/35 yards main colour and 5 metres/5.5 yards each of two contrasting colours for flower and leaves; 1 metre/1 yard thin ribbon.

Garter - One pair of size 2.25 mm (UK size 13/US size 1) knitting needles, 100 metres/108 yards No 10 or No 12 crochet cotton; 1 metre/1¼ yards thin ribbon

Approximate finished sizes
Wedding horseshoe – 19 cm/7½-inches high by 17.5 cm/7-inches wide after stiffening
Garter - 4 cm/1½-inches deep x 45 cm/18-inches before gathering (although the garter will stretch quite a lot)

Gauge - 1 repeat of pattern on size 2.25 knitting needles is approximately 2.5 cm/1-inch by 4 cm/1½-inches into point.
