This scarf is probably my favorite and most sophisticated design so far….I love the cables. Not as complex as it looks and a great scarf for either men or women. For a more plain edge look for guys or girls, omit the picot edge (instructions included.) Like it a little more pretty - finish with the picot edge as shown (instructions also included.)

This is a knotted cable panel inside, surrounded with moss stitch - the width allows for the wearer to roll the neck, or to leave it unrolled. For the cable section the pattern calls for increasing the stitch count and then decreasing at the front end. The moss stitch button hole band is constructed so there is a folding / pleated effect the continue the cable line to the edge, created by simply sewing the three buttons at a narrower distance between them compared to the hole placement.

I’ve classed this as an intermediate level mainly due to the cable construction being a little more fiddly - you are using 2 cable needles at the same time that can be more challenging if you are a beginning cable knitter. Experienced cable knitters should find it pretty straight forward. The cables cross only every 12 rows, so it actually knits up reasonably fast.

This would look fabulous in earthy colors, grays, browns and beige for a casual look while spicing it up with color will provide a warm classic to wear with business or more dressy attire while keeping warm.
