Suitable for an adventurous beginner, this pattern uses front post treble crochet to create a cabled pattern reminiscent of pine trees. The original was worked up using Caron Simply Soft in Dark Sage, but looks equally nice in another yarn or colour.

Crochet stitches used are:
chain stitch
single crochet
double crochet
front post treble crochet

This pattern uses the US terminology.

I have included pictures of the cable stitch in an attempt to better explain the method. My testers all agreed that the wording was fairly clear, and it has been revised to be even more clear.
