This is a great amigurumi pattern featuring six colors of Koi fish. Koi are a long standing tradition in many asian countries but primarily in Japan. These slow moving carp are most beautiful from above and can survive in semi frozen ponds throughout winter with no food. They are friendly and frequently have human and animal friends. It is said that you MUST have a black fish in your pond for good luck, so I expanded with the 5 most popular black koi fish colors.

This pattern includes six color variations and more than 20 guide pictures. It is a beg/int pattern and is a great value for 12 in 1! You save 2 dollars off buying the patterns separately.

Colors are:
Karasugoi - All Black Fish
Kumonryu - Black with White Fin Tips & Head Spot (Translates literally as 9 dragon tattoos)
Hajiro - Black with white fin tips only.
Hi Utsuri - Black fish with red markings
Ki Utsuri - Black fish with yellow markings
Shiro Utsuri = Black fish with large white markings and white fin tips.

Platinum Ogon - All White
Tancho - White with red spot on head (named after Japanese Cranes)
Kohaku - White with red markings (usually 3 or 4)
Bekko - White with black spots
Tancho Bekko - White with red head spot and black spots on body
Sanke - 3 color koi with red white and black markings.

I am a marine ecology teacher and pride myself on highly accurate patterns. This is a great little pattern with lots of pictures and instructions. All patterns are a part of my SoftScience line.

This is a PDF file, not an actual koi fish or a paper pattern.
